Mission, Vision and Schoolwide Learner Outcomes

MISSION: Etna High School is committed to promoting the success of every student by providing a learning environment that will facilitate intellectual, personal, and social growth. We endeavor to help students be lifelong learners, and to be college or career ready upon graduation.

VISION: Etna High School is a learning community that helps all students become productive citizens through their academic success and their participation in the arts, technology, career technical education, athletics, social interaction, and leadership. The school is a partnership of staff, students, parents, and community members who share responsibility for nurturing a commitment to academic excellence and Lion Pride. Etna High School will develop and graduate the most highly employable graduates in the state.

BIO: Etna High School, established in a gold rush community in 1891, lies 37 miles south of the Oregon border and about 100 miles east of the Pacific coast. The town of Etna is located 27 miles southwest of Yreka, the Siskiyou County seat. Scott Valley is a mountain valley bordered by the Trinity Alps and the Marble Mountains. Etna High serves an immediate area of 1,500 square miles and encompasses all of Scott Valley, Quartz Valley, Sawyers Bar, Cecilville, and the Forks of the Salmon.

VISIT: Please come for a visit to Etna High School. Our school is an outstanding place for students to gain knowledge, skills, and practice that will prepare them for their next steps. An excellent teaching staff, a great population of parents who are concerned and engaged in their children’s learning, and a Scott Valley community that extensively supports and provides for the well-being of our students, all combine to make Etna High School a wonderful learning facility.
